of the Drinking Water Protection Regulation 459/00 for reporting
of the systems' Water Quality. With the adoption of the Safe
Drinking Water Act and associated Regulations, this site will
continue to be used for the public reporting of water supply
related information. The member municipalities of the Lake Huron

Legislative Background
In July 1998, the City of London was advised by the Ontario
Ministry of the Environment that under Bill 107 (Municipal
Water and Sewer Transfer Act, 1997), they were
transferring ownership of two water systems and associated
properties from the Ontario Clean Water Agency to two newly
created water boards, namely the Lake Huron Primary Water Supply
System Joint Board of Management and the Elgin Area Primary
Water Supply System Joint Board of Management.
Each of the participating municipalities were provided
representation on the respective Boards, with the City of London
as the System's administering municipality. In addition, the
Ministry further established Secondary Water Supply Systems and
their respective Joint Boards of Management, each of which draws
water from the Primary System and distributes the water to their
member municipalities.
The transfer of the Lake Huron Primary and Secondary Water
Supply Systems were finalized and the Transfer Order received
from the Ministry by the City of London on September 15, 2000.
The transfer of the Elgin Area Primary and Secondary Water
Supply Systems were finalized and the Transfer Order received
from the Ministry by the City of London on November 29, 2000.
